Sometime in the mid-eighties, the ambition began to bring at least two of these beautiful brown-toned albums back from every trip to Paris. Something with a guitar was always depicted on the cover: raw wood that had already assumed the rough outline of a corpus and was fixed in planing tongs; Unpolished guitar necks, a heap of properly hacked material that should show: This is about making, about the craft that turns into great art – namely the songs of Georges Brassens, which every throttle could whistle from the roof at the time.
