George Clooney and Brad Pitt can no longer live without each other. The two are once again in front of the camera together in “Ocean’s 14”.
It has been a known fact for a long time, but now the decision seems to have finally been made: As the industry magazine “Deadline” reports, the ink of George Clooney (63) and Brad Pitt (60) is dry. The two will soon be seen together on the big screen again in “Ocean’s 14”. Just a few days ago, the two superstars presented their new joint film “Wolfs” in Venice.
Not much is known about the first “Ocean’s” sequel since 2007. Except that Edward Berger (54), who celebrated international success with “All Quiet on the Western Front”, may take the director’s chair. It is also suspected that, following the commitment of Clooney and Pitt, other “Ocean’s” actors such as Matt Damon (53), Casey Affleck (49) and Julia Roberts (56) could join the cast. However, none of this has been confirmed yet.
Currently “Ocean’s” prequel with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the works
The first three parts of the “Ocean’s” series were directed by star filmmaker Steven Soderbergh (61), but this seems unlikely for the new edition. Gary Ross (67) already took over the spin-off “Ocean’s 8”. A prequel to the main series is currently in the works, in which Margot Robbie (34) and Ryan Gosling (43) will play the leading roles. The as yet untitled film will be directed by Jay Roach (67).
Clooney already told the portal “Uproxx” at the end of 2023that he had been presented with a new story for an “Ocean’s” sequel, which he thought was “great.” “We’ve got a really good script for another ‘Ocean’s’ film now, so we might do another one,” Clooney said. When asked about Robbie playing his mother in the “Ocean’s” prequel, the superstar joked: “Margot Robbie is my mom? I’ve always kind of thought that…”
“Ocean’s Eleven” is a remake of Frank Sinatra’s cult film from the 60s
“Ocean’s Eleven” was released in 2001 as a remake of the legendary Frank Sinatra film “The Adventures of Frankie and His Companions” from 1960. In it, the charismatic thief Danny Ocean (Clooney or Sinatra) robs a casino in Las Vegas with a top-class team (Pitt, Damon and Co. or Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Co.). After the huge success of the remake, another part, “Ocean’s 12”, was produced around three years later, followed in 2007 by “Ocean’s 13”, the final installment in the main series. In 2018, Soderbergh then produced “Ocean’s 8”, a spin-off with a female cast including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna and Co.
