There’s this hackneyed saying that younger people have had to listen to for decades: Apprenticeship years aren’t master years. As long as someone is in training, he or she “must make some effort and be modest in their demands,” according to the Oxford Languages dictionary. Those days are over. Young people are revolutionizing the world of work. You are no longer humble. You don’t want to break yourself for work. And they don’t work overtime anymore. You see this attitude in surveys, parents see it in their children, female bosses in job interviews and employees see it in their younger colleagues.
