Studies suggest that the more equal a society is, the more women and men behave according to traditional gender roles. Now it turns out that this paradox may not be true at all.
Whether career choice, personality or meat consumption: Various studies have shownthat the differences between women and men are greater in societies that are more equal than in less egalitarian societies. In concrete terms, this means that if women are on average more interested in social or artistic professions and men are more interested in scientific or technical activities, then such differences are even greater in countries where women and men are more equal.
