GDV President Rollinger warns against too much faith in the state – economy

Norbert Rollinger has headed the Association of the German Insurance Industry since September. A conversation about bad advice, expensive old-age provision and why the insurers are not involved in the share pension.

Interviewed by

Herbert Fromme, Wiesbaden

Norbert Rollinger has little time. He has one hour for the interview, then he has to travel from Wiesbaden to Frankfurt Airport – appointments in Berlin. The conversation continues in the car. The head of the insurer R+V, which belongs to the cooperative financial group, has been at the head of the General Association of the German Insurance Industry (GDV) since September. Rollinger, 58, from Luxembourg, studied law and business administration in Munich. After completing his doctorate, he worked as a management consultant and went to the insurer DBV-Winterthur in 1998. After a stint at Generali, he has been with R+V since 2009 and has been CEO since 2017.
