At a press conference held by the Hamas-controlled health authority in Gaza, the first children are already receiving a dose of vaccine. The vaccination campaign officially starts on Sunday.

Preparations for the polio vaccination campaign in According to the Health Ministry in Ramallah, vaccinations in the Gaza Strip have been completed. At a press conference in the contested coastal area, the first children were already given a vaccination. The World Health Organization spoke of an opening ceremony. According to official information, the vaccination campaign is set to begin on Sunday morning.

After the first case of polio was recently reported in the Gaza Strip, the aim is to prevent a mass outbreak of the disease. Aid workers are to vaccinate hundreds of thousands of children in the coming days. There will be temporary and local breaks in the fighting for this purpose.
