The police have confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with a series of petrol station robberies recently in Munich. Which and how many of them could be assigned to the man is still completely open, said a police spokesman. The spokesman said that there was still no knowledge of details such as the circumstances of the arrest or details of the man.
The procedure and the description of the perpetrator were the same in a striking number of cases: The man, who is said to be about 1.80 to 1.90 meters tall and in his mid-twenties, had money packed in a bag he had brought with him, showing a weapon. In some cases he had escaped by bicycle. Gas stations on Kapuzinerstrasse, Landsberger Strasse, Sonnenstrasse, Bodenseestrasse, Nymphenburger Strasse and Gasteig had been attacked since the beginning of January.
The police and prosecutors want to announce more details on Thursday.
