Garching: Dieselstraße will be renewed – district of Munich

Dozens of trucks, vans and other heavy vehicles roll through the commercial area in Garching-Hochbrück every day to reach the neighboring companies, construction and logistics companies. This high load is now showing its effects. Many of the roads are in poor condition, and after several decades, they no longer meet today’s technical standards. The city of Garching has therefore decided to renovate one of the main traffic axes in the commercial area every year. After the Zeppelinstrasse was renewed this year, it will be the turn of the Dieselstrasse in 2023.

In the section between Lilienthalstrasse and Zeppelinstrasse, the road is to receive a new asphalt base and surface course as well as an anti-freeze layer. In addition, the curbs along the roadway will be renewed and the previous seepage shafts will be replaced with modern pipe trenches for road drainage in the event of precipitation.

Construction work is expected to start in April 2023. The city administration estimates a gross amount of almost 2.8 million euros for the renovation of the approximately 9,500 square meter traffic area on Dieselstraße.
