From a building law point of view, nothing stands in the way of another office building with an integrated day clinic or hotel use next to the Garching Business Campus. This has been confirmed by the city’s building committee. An investor had submitted a corresponding preliminary inquiry to erect a new building in the form of two five- and eight-storey ring structures, connected by a central building, on the currently undeveloped corner property between Schleißheimer Straße and the B 471 federal highway. Among other things, a day clinic for outpatient and part-time inpatient treatment of patients could move into it; a use as a hotel was also requested. The property is part of the city’s development plan called “Gewerbepark Business Campus”, but is not part of the Garching Business Campus. The operator of the Business Campus, DV Immobilien Management GmbH, is currently building a business hotel for the Dorint Group on the campus.
