  • Used to organizing events with robots in Lyon, Maxime Delarche (34) puts this in the full context of Covid-19 with a concept unheard of in France, e-football.
  • His company Ideexo indeed offers “a table football 2.0”, a business event in which two teams of two robots compete on a field of 2 by 3 meters located in Meyzieu (Rhône).
  • In “a Champions League atmosphere”, with an actor commenting, the robots are controlled remotely by employees simply using the arrows on their computer keyboard.

The famous video game Rocket league inspired Maxime Delarche (34) to one of the most innovative projects of the year in Lyon. Created in March 2020, just before the first confinement due to Covid-19, his company Ideexo has indeed just launched e-football, an astonishing remote business activity. Two teams of two small 15 cm rolling robots compete in matches of 2 to 10 minutes in an “arena” of 2 by 3 meters.

Located in the Part-Dieu district, the provider of innovative solutions for events has been able to adapt as well as possible to the generalization of teleworking in France, due to the coronavirus epidemic. After having already organized an animation of talking and dancing robots (Unexpected Robots) at the Part-Dieu shopping center in 2018, Maxime Delarche was initially supposed to do this with an idea of “innovative face-to-face table football”. The Covid-19 has been there and pushed Ideexo to transform this project into video football.

“People need to find little moments of breathing”

“We connect people who are anywhere on Earth,” explains Maxime Delarche. The people we touch are teleworking and they need to find little moments of breathing. This table football 2.0 brings all these employees together all at once. We notice that the players automatically smile when they discover that it is they who control a robot located very far from their home. “

This dimension is precisely unprecedented, “at least in France”, in the animation ofIdeexo, who surrounded himself with
Datailor for the technical part, as well as
Tikam, designer of the arena which is currently located in its premises in Meyzieu (Rhône). The user simply has to connect to the game platform and use the arrows on his keyboard to move his robot. To make this e-football even more fun, reactions have been added to the robots, suddenly joyful in the event of a goal scored, while an actor comments with passion on the matches live.

“Everyone is in a spirit of competition while having fun”

“I try to put an atmosphere of the Champions League, smiles rightly Mohamadou Diop, responsible for igniting the meetings at the microphone. We all get caught up in the game quickly. Whatever the professional status of the employees who play football, as soon as the match starts, everyone is in a spirit of competition while having fun. We feel how much the game break is doing everyone good at the moment. “Because as Margaux François, event project manager at Ideexo insists:” We did not want to make a video game but to put people at the heart of technology “.

While Ideexo is more and more in demand for corporate tournaments, in view of the Euro football from June 11, Marie-Laure Marcan-Dumesnil was able to test the game with her event agency Villeurbannaise MLMD Events. “It offers a nice breath of fresh air,” she appreciates. We had a good laugh, especially since we can quickly take control of these robots. I even managed to score a goal, I don’t know how yet! “

From 20 to 45 euros per hour and per person depending on the number of players. Animation available Monday to Sunday, and only Thursdays for free tests. Reservations here.
