Further raids on the “Reichsbürger” scene

Status: 11.06.2024 12:33

Since this morning, several buildings have been searched in Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The investigations are being carried out into the suspected terrorist group of “Reich Citizens” around Prince Reuss.

There are searches again in connection with the investigations into the alleged terrorist group of “Reich Citizens” around Heinrich XIII Prince Reuss. The searches involve several locations in Lower Saxony and one location in Saxony-Anhalt, a spokeswoman for the Attorney General’s Office told the news agency dpa. The Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung was the first to report on the matter.

The Lower Saxony Central Office for Combating Terrorism at the Celle Public Prosecutor’s Office has taken over seven cases involving 13 defendants from the Federal Prosecutor General. These are considered to be less serious cases. They concern proceedings against suspected supporters who are not in custody.

Processes throughout Germany

A total of 26 alleged conspirators around Reuss must answer in three trials in Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main and Munich. They are said to have planned a violent coup in Germany. They are said to have already worked out the basic structures for their own state order.

The group around Prince Reuss became publicly known as a result of a large-scale anti-terror raid at the end of 2022. Dozens of people have since been arrested in connection with this.

“Reichsbürger” do not recognize the Federal Republic and its laws. Instead, they claim that the German Reich (1871-1945) continues to exist. This is where the name comes from.
