An unknown person is believed to have scratched more than 100 cars in Fürth within just under a year. Due to the method used, the proximity of the crime scenes and the timing, there is a possibility that it was “one and the same perpetrator,” a police spokeswoman said on Thursday.
The cars were each scratched with a sharp object on the side facing the sidewalk. The damage amounts to around 250,000 euros.
According to reports, the first incidents in Fürth had already occurred in the summer of 2023. Over the course of months, individual cars had been repeatedly scratched. The series ended in April and continued in June of this year. The police therefore asked the people of Fürth to “pay increased attention”.
