From SZ authors: anthology by Ronen Steinke on right-wing extremism. – Culture

In Saxony, one of the country’s most prominent right-wing extremists, the AfD politician Jens Maier, is returning to the chair of a judge. Fresh out of the Bundestag, Maier wants to judge “on behalf of the people” again. The state justice minister lets him do it. According to Ronen Steinke, SZ editor for internal security, this is the most disturbing development in recent years: the right-wing extremists are not only fighting on the streets. You’ve gotten a lot smarter. They don’t just march and howl. They also make use of the instruments of the law. The resistance is still far too weak. This anthology, which Steinke is publishing together with others, therefore calls for more resistance: Forty articles, written by ARD journalist Georg Restle or ex-Justice Minister Katarina Barley, for example, shed light on the good and bad performance of the well-fortified state against right-wing extremism in the past year.
