A gripping agent story in which the narrator experiences how the band rehearsal suddenly turns into a dangerous thriller
“T like Tessa – suddenly a secret agent” is a book by Frauke Scheunemann that can best be described as a crime genre, as there are many brutal scenes and blackmailing. But there are also inventive solutions, like in a detective film. The book is about a young girl Tessa who loves the girl group Gimme four! She can play the guitar so she gets a rehearsal because a girl leaves the band. On the way to the rehearsal, she meets a talking mouse named Hector. Hector helps her with the rehearsal, so she is accepted. In the beginning their band members are mean, but they keep getting nicer. Soon there will be a video shoot in Berlin, her little friend Hector will also be there. When they finally arrived in Berlin, they were taken straight to a 5 – star hotel. The next morning filming began, which Tessa really liked.
Shooting continues the next morning, but Jay, the dancer, is missing!
After a long day it’s finally over, the rest of the video will be done the next morning. Everything seems strange to Tessa, so she searches the room of her band member, where she sees “Gendarmenmarkt 7pm” written on a pad. Together with Hector she goes to the market and meets the dancer Jay who is there. On the way home, she discovers her band members who are being blackmailed with a gun. Shooting continues the next morning, but Jay, the dancer, is missing! So the shoot is canceled and they drive back to Hamburg! There Tessa continues to spy and discovers something very special.
The whole story is exciting, but the first 25 pages are a little long. In comparison, the tension lasts until the very last page, which is very unusual but great. The basic idea of the book is great. The whole book is just the right length of chapters, and has been embellished with feelings and conversation! I would recommend it to nine to twelve year old girls and boys who like to read and watch children solve tasks and mysteries. Would I read it again and again, or maybe a second part?
