Frank Klötgen and Luz de Cuba in the laughing and shooting society – Munich

There is not much more to explain about the phenomenon of poetry slams, they have also been very popular in Munich for years. But what Frank Klötgen, himself a slam poet and host for many years and a current member of the Laughing and Shooting Society ensemble, is doing now is new: on Friday, October 7, he invites you to the “Swabo-Caribbean Poetry Exchange”. Laugh and Shoot Society, he brings his colleague Luz de Cuba fresh from the Poetry Slam World Championships in Brussels. She is the patron of the Poetry Slam in Havana (and current runner-up in Latin America), where Klötgen was allowed to perform in March. There is no need to fear language barriers, as Klötgen explains: “We will translate each other’s poems, in terms of content and style. That means their Cuban verve will be expressed in German meter, and my lyrics will probably dance.”

Luz de Cuba and Frank Klötgen, Fri., Oct. 7, 8 p.m., Laughing and Shooting Society, Haimhauser Str. 16, Tel. 39 19 97
