four cars burned in a village

The fire broke out in two nearby places at the bottom of Bootzheim Square (where the church is located). A Citroën Berlingo and a Renault Twingo were completely burned (as the photos show) and two utilities, about fifteen meters away, were partially affected by the flames, in particular on the bodywork.

The firefighters of Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac were able to quickly control the disaster which risked spreading to a house very close to a vehicle. No injuries are reported.

One of the vehicles completely burnt out, overnight from Sunday to Monday.

Criminal origin?

The gendarmes of the Villefranche-du-Périgord, Saint-Cyprien and Rouffignac brigades went to the scene to find clues. If for the police, the origin of the double fire is undetermined, it could be a voluntary act according to the first observations, because the spread seems unlikely.

According to information reported by France Bleu Périgord and confirmed to “Sud Ouest” by the owner of the village bar-restaurant, one or more individuals also tried to break into the premises of La Marjolaine, by setting fire to the one of the flaps. A packet of cigarettes was found this Monday, November 28, in the morning, nearby.

Even a camera was disoriented this weekend at the entrance to the municipal depot.
