Forty million euros in jewelry stolen in Switzerland, eleven criminals arrested in the south of France

Nearly four months after the robbery of a jewelry store in Gstaadt in Switzerland, a team of robbers, suspected of being behind the coup, was arrested in Lyon, Marseille but also in the vicinity of Nice, we learn this Friday from the Marseille prosecutor’s office.

The facts had been committed on February 9 at 12:30 p.m. Threatening the employees of the shop with handguns, two criminals had seized many jewels whose value is estimated at 40 million Swiss francs (about 41 million euros). Before leaving behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle in Annemasse, in Haute-Savoie.

Four imprisoned people

This week, eleven people, suspected of being involved in this robbery to varying degrees, were arrested by the police in Nice and Lyon, with the assistance of the raid and the Nice BRI. “During the searches, 4,550 euros, serflexes, two walkie-talkies, a tracker and a jammer were seized”, indicates the parquet floor of Marseille.

Four of them, men aged 27 to 32, were indicted for “theft with a weapon in an organized gang” and “participation in a criminal association for organized crimes and organized gang thefts” . They were locked up.
