Mick Schumacher also showed a strong race. Six days after scoring his world championship premiere points in eighth place at Silverstone, the 23-year-old fought a thrilling duel over several laps with Formula 1 record world champion Lewis Hamilton in a Mercedes. In the end, Mick Schumacher was overtaken by the Brit and slipped out of the sprint points position in ninth place.

For compatriot Sebastian Vettel, the race at the Red Bull Ring came to an end after the last place on the grid in the pits. He was in 19th place at the time. The Grand Prix will start this Sunday (3 p.m. / Sky) in the order of the sprint results. Verstappen can then get another 26 points.
