However, this will still have consequences: Just eight minutes after the start of the first training session, Carlos Sainz brought his Ferrari to a halt: he had driven over a loose manhole cover – and this had slightly damaged the underside of the car. With great effort, the small but potentially life-threatening hole was closed and the race was postponed for a day. Or rather, about one night: From the beginning, the big return was planned as a night event – as is best suited to the party paradise of Vegas.
