So now it’s official: Formula 1 team Haas is firing driver Nikita Mazepin. That’s not all, you also separate from a sponsor.

The Formula 1 team Haas parted ways with immediate effect from Mick Schumacher’s Russian stable rival Nikita Mazepin and the Russian main sponsor Uralkali. This was announced by the US racing team on Saturday. “Like the rest of the Formula 1 community, the team is shocked and saddened by the invasion of Ukraine and wishes for a quick and peaceful end to the conflict,” the statement said.

Haas has not yet named a new driver, but the American-Brazilian reserve driver Pietro Fittipaldi is said to replace Mazepin from Moscow. Like Schumacher, Mazepin contested his first Formula 1 season in 2021.
