Former track cyclist Kristina Vogel wants to get married in 2025. She and her partner are also thinking about having children, she revealed to “Bunte”.

Having children is also an issue, says Kristina Vogel, who has been paraplegic since a training accident in 2018. “We do have a desire to have children,” she confirms in the “Bunte” interview: “But I don’t want to put pressure on ourselves. So far it’s been like this: I had to get to know myself in a wheelchair first. In other words: How do I function, what is my everyday life like and how can I take responsibility for such a small being? I can’t just pack a child into my already turbulent life without knowing whether I can do it justice. But I’m slowly starting to think about it,” explains Vogel, who has now published a children’s book “about inclusion and accessibility” with “Here comes Mila!”.

Serious illness in April

Only a few weeks ago, there was bad news about the 33-year-old. The former track cyclist had to undergo emergency surgery in April after suffering a pulmonary embolism. as she revealed on Instagram at the time. In the post, she explained that her condition had been “life-threatening,” but at the same time gave the all-clear: she is “feeling pretty well again now!” she wrote.
