Only ten days ago, after a tedious six-month process, the former MDR entertainment boss Udo Foht was convicted of fraud and bribery in 13 cases. But anyone who thought they could finally close the confused book was wrong. On Monday, 72-year-old Foht appealed the verdict, even though he had admitted his guilt and the sentence, fifteen months’ probation, was the same as what Foht had been promised if he had confessed. What is his purpose? Neither he nor his lawyers have commented so far.
