50 years after the founding, City are going on one last tour. It starts in July. Before that, the MDR shows a big “city evening”.

In the year of their 50th anniversary, the band City is going on one last tour. At the end of the year it’s over. Before the group according to their homepage on July 8th in Potsdam for the “50 Years City – The Last Round” tour, the new album “The Last Round” will be released on April 1st and the MDR will show “The Big City Evening”.

Many well-known guests can be seen in the city special

On April 2nd, from 8:15 p.m., fans will be able to see a 90-minute documentary and “a thrilling concert experience”, according to a broadcaster. The band goes on a journey through time in the three and a half hour special that evening, it is said. There will be numerous guests: Matthias Reim (64) plays a version of “Wand an Wand”, Dieter “Maschine” Birr (78) from the Puhdys is dedicated to “Casablanca” and Silly will be with Anna R. (52) “e.g Susann” perform.

In addition, Tobias Künzel (57) from the princes and comedian Olaf Schubert (54) will take a seat on the drums. The hit “Am Fenster” will be remixed with the Berlin Philharmonic. Musician Henning Wehland (50, H-Blockx) will lead through the evening. Former band members and companions should also have their say and the band around singer Toni Krahl (72) will also remember the late City drummer Klaus Selmke (1950-2020).

The documentation should then be available in the ARD media library under the title “Legends – City – The Last Round” until December 29th, the concert “City – The Last Round” for 30 days after the first broadcast. In September 2021, the band announced that they wanted to celebrate their 50th anniversary with a “The Last Round” tour. The final concert is scheduled for December 30, 2022 in Berlin.
