Foot PSG – PSG sold by Qatar, panic in Paris!

For several weeks, the PSG has been increasing pressure on the city of Paris with the aim of buying the Parc des Princes.

the Paris Saint Germain expressed the wish several weeks ago to acquire the Parc des Princes in order to be able to carry out the work necessary for its expansion. According to information from L’Equipe, PSG has several architectural studies to increase the capacity of the Parc des Princes to 60,000 seats without extending or raising the stadium. To carry out this work, which would allow Paris Saint-Germain to have a stadium with a capacity more in line with its status as a European giant and also to increase its income, the capital club must on the other hand become the owner of the Parc princes. This is not the case for the moment, the fault of the reluctance of the town hall of Paris in this file.

The City of Paris fears a sale of PSG by Qatar

The national daily knows a little more about the reasons which lead Anne Hidalgo to refuse a sale of the Parc des Princes to PSG for the moment. Indeed, the newspaper L’Equipe informs in its columns that the City of Paris did not appreciate learning that Qatar Sport Investment (QSI) was negotiating the opening of the club’s capital up to 10 to 15% to a financial partner outside. Anne Hidalgo and her advisers were all the more irritated that they were not informed of this opening of the capital. As the City of Paris does not know officially the Parisian owner’s intentions in this regard, it fears that the purchase of the Parc des Princes has only one goal: to enhance the price of the club during future negotiations for a possible total takeover of PSG by investors.

Suffice to say that on the side of the City, we therefore fear a sale of the club by Qatar, which will not be likely to reassure the supporters of Paris Saint-Germain in the months to come. For his part, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has always been clear in this matter. The Emirate has no intention of selling PSG, and if it intends to buy the stadium, it is to finally reap profits worthy of its status, which the City of Paris does not currently allow it to do.
