Flower seeds distributed to residents to encourage them to green the city

A blooming spring to make you forget the gloom of recent months and put nature at the bottom of your home. Since May 10, Lyonnais have been invited to come and collect wild flower seeds free of charge from district town halls as part of the operation.
“We sow, a little, a lot, passionately”, a “spring break” organized by the ecological town hall.

Ten thousand flower seeds will thus be supplied to the public to “beautify the city and maintain biodiversity” with a single instruction: plant them wherever it seems possible. Everyone can then flower their balcony or terrace or sow in the street, in the form of floral micro-plants, at the foot of the trees in their neighborhood or in shared or family gardens.

Flowers adapted to the Lyon climate

Produced in France, the seeds of the wild flowers distributed (corn niello, field anthemis, cornflower knapweed, crowned chrysanthemum, sea alyssum, poppy, etc.) have the particularity of being adapted to the Lyon climate and great hosts for small fauna.

In order for flowering to take place, it is recommended to sow before summer and water regularly afterwards. For more detailed advice, the Lyonnais are invited to watch, this way, the video tutorial prepared by the agents of the green spaces department. To your pickaxes!
