Heavy rains fell on Toulouse and its surroundings this Monday, June 5th. Rescuers have been responding to floods since the beginning of the evening in several districts of Toulouse, but also Cugnaux, Castanet or Monstesquieu-Volvestre.

The intervention teams of the departmental fire and rescue service have been mobilized since Monday evening June 5. The thunderstorms that hit the south of Toulouse in the early evening required several interventions since 7:45 p.m.

The firefighters intervened in particular to fight against floods in garages or the lower parts of houses. This was particularly the case in rue du Pré-Vicinal, in the center of Cugnaux between the Saint-Laurent church and the Vivier district. “The firefighters are drying out but tonight there are no victims, only material damage,” said an officer from the Toulouse-Mirail gendarmerie company.

Interventions were also reported in Montesquieu-Volvestre, near Cazère but also in Castanet and Toulouse.

At 11:30 p.m. this Monday evening, the firefighters counted around thirty exits linked to the consequences of the storms. .
