Ultra-conservative US Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has rejected calls to recuse himself from several cases due to bias following criticism over controversial flags in front of his homes in Virginia and New Jersey. In letters to Democratic members of the US Congress, the 74-year-old announced on Wednesday that his wife was responsible for raising the two controversial flags. “She was solely responsible for setting up the flagpoles at our residence and our vacation home and has had a wide variety of flags raised over the years.” He continued: “My wife likes to raise flags. That’s not me.”
