Tens of thousands of fans in the Olympic Stadium, the mood exuberant, at the end standing ovations. Rammstein’s first concert in Germany after allegations of sexual assault against frontman Till Lindemann took place in Munich on Wednesday evening. What happened at the concert?
Without “pussy” and penis cannon
Compared to the other concerts the band has played on their European tour so far, this evening in Munich they did without the song “Pussy” – which is about casual sex and, especially in view of the allegations, is quite explicitly written is.
Lindemann usually climbs onto a huge, penis-shaped foam cannon and “splashes” the audience with this song. That was not used in Munich either.
During the song “Deutschland” Till Lindemann disappears into the notorious break. According to the allegations, he is said to have gone under the stage in the past and met a woman from “Row Zero” there. Yesterday, too, Lindemann went down a flight of stairs – but was back on stage after almost 5 minutes, like them Southgerman newspaper reported.
Changes were announced in advance
In response to the allegations, the band announced in advance that they wanted to do without Row Zero. So fans were not allowed in front of the barrier on the stage.
Together with the management, it was decided to change the concept of the after-show parties. But there were awareness zones and tents that women in particular could turn to if uncertain moments should arise.
The band did not comment on the allegations that had been circulating online for about a week. Lindemann said goodbye to the audience in the evening with the words: “Munich, thank you for being here. Thank you for being with us.”
That seemed to throw Christoph Schneider off the track. As a video on Instagram shows, the 57-year-old cried at that moment.

Protests before the concert
Towards evening there is said to have been a small demonstration in front of the Olympic Stadium. About 60 people came to demonstrate against the band’s performance. The police had to keep individual aggressive fans away from the protesters. According to the police, the demonstration ended without major incidents.
It was the first concert in Munich that Rammstein played on Wednesday evening. Three more will follow in the next few days. In mid-July the band will come to Berlin again for a few concerts. After-show parties have already been completely banned there.
