fires, dams, looting, clashes… an update on this new night of degradation

Tension rose a notch this Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Several incidents were reported in several municipalities in Martinique. Dozens of videos are shared on social networks.

The tensions of the “Martinique Dead Island” day continued during the evening. The municipality of Carbet, starting point of the clashes between demonstrators and the police also saw the territorial gendarmerie brigade be completely destroyed.

The roundabout of Rivière-Saléeon the RN5, a point of high tension at the end of the day, was the scene of clashes between demonstrators and the police.
