This decision, justified by the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, therefore puts an end to the only fireworks still planned in the department, in Cannes. The mayor of the city, David Lisnard, had decided to resist a few days ago and wanted to keep the show going. Thursday, he had to face the facts. “The town hall of Cannes has no other choice but to take note of it,” she wrote in a press release.
Other decisions, such as the closing of bars and restaurants at 2 a.m., or the ban on the sale and use of firecrackers, have been pronounced in the department.
