It was feared by the authorities. Unfortunately, clashes between Parisian and Lyon supporters, on the sidelines of the Coupe de France final, this Saturday in Lille, took place on the highway leading to the capital of Flanders. The incidents took place at the Fresnes-lès-Montauban toll station (Pas-de-Calais), around sixty kilometers from Lille.
There are “for the moment no victims,” a source told AFP. The supporters also attacked the police who came to provide reinforcement. Two buses caught fire, two hours before the start of the match, which had been classified as high risk by the authorities. According to RMC, the A1 motorway was blocked in both directions.
Since the start of the day, in Lille, the atmosphere had until then been good-natured, with classic clashes between supporters of the two camps, but with a smile. Even around the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, thanks to a large police force, no incident had, until then, been to be deplored.
