“Who is calling anonymously?” Asks Ralph Siegel during the interview. “Frank Elstner”, sounds a well-known TV voice from the phone. “My Frank!” Says Siegel happily. “My Ralph! I just wanted to say that I’m coming …” That was his “greatest pleasure,” says Siegel, getting up from the soft sofa at home in Munich-Solln despite aching sciatica. Somehow everything fits together for the hit king. Finally, after six years of preparation, team and location changes, three postponements and a pandemic, he can play his musical “Zeppelin” on this Saturday, October 16, friends and fans about the life of the inventor Graf von Zeppelin and the disaster flight of the Hindenburg at the Festspielhaus Füssen with a star cast that he cast himself: Uwe Kröger, Sandy “No Angels” Mölling, Patrick Stanke, Tim Wilhelm (Münchner Freiheit), Sigmar Solbach … It is his “life’s work”, as the 76-year-old calls it. He is the captain, designer and ship owner of the gigantic musical airship.
