Felix Finkbeiner: The savior of the cuddly toys – economy

What sounded like a crazy idea a decade ago has developed into a successful model: selling fair-trade chocolate and using the profit to reforest forests. “The Good Chocolate” is now available in many German supermarkets, and more than eight million trees were planted with the profits, one tree for every five bars. Behind the chocolate is not a confectionery company, but the environmental foundation Plant-for-the-Planet and its co-founder Felix Finkbeiner. “If someone were to suggest that to me today, I probably wouldn’t dare to do a project like this,” says the 25-year-old. But the youthful courage paid off.
