A 23-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car on Thursday afternoon in Feldkirchen on the sidewalk on Oberndorfer Strasse and was seriously injured. The young man from Munich broke both lower legs and suffered a serious head injury. The accident happened around 4 p.m. when a 70-year-old drove his car, which he had parked on the opposite sidewalk, and turned onto the street, ignoring the traffic. A 65-year-old woman had to swerve out of town with her car to avoid an accident and came across the oncoming lane onto the opposite sidewalk. She hit the 23-year-old head-on with her car. The crew of a called police patrol cared for the seriously injured man until the emergency services arrived. The two drivers involved were uninjured. According to the police, Oberndorfer Strasse had to be completely closed while the accident was being recorded.
