FC Bayern: “This howling around is annoying!” Markus Babbel criticizes Robert Lewandowski

After Mario Basler, Markus Babbel is also not on good terms with Bayern Munich’s goalscorer Robert Lewandowski.
Markus Babbel has clear criticism on the behavior of Robert Lewandowski on the subject of contract extensions voiced. “This howling around is annoying,” said Babbel sky About Lewandowski: “They say the appreciation isn’t enough for him, I can’t hear that anymore. No player in the last 20 years has received as much appreciation as Lewandowski has at Bayern.”
The Polish striker’s contract expires in 2023. It is still unclear whether the 33-year-old will stay on the Isar or take on a new challenge at the end of his career.
Babbel referred to the behavior of Thomas Müller (contract until 2023), whose future is also not clear. “Thomas Müller, for example, doesn’t make such a circus out of it. Lewandowski earns 25 million euros and wants more. No other Bayern player earns that much,” said the 49-year-old.
FC Bayern: Babbel demands “gratitude” from Lewandowski
“There were times when he wanted to leave permanently, identification with the club wasn’t particularly great at times. Nevertheless, FC Bayern stood by him because they think a lot of him,” Babbel continued, recalling that Lewandowski with the Bayern Champions League winner and world footballer: “Sometimes there is a bit of gratitude involved – not just demands.”
Another former Bayern professional, Mario Basler, recently criticized Lewandowski: “He gets his ass painted by Bayern Munich every day. What else do you want to do, cut your toenails?”
