“It wasn’t fun, it was really nasty,” said Bittencourt in an interview with the kicker about the games against FC Bayern, coached by Pep Guardiola, in the Bundesliga.

At that time he also didn’t like going to Munich. “You felt like you were wearing running shoes – because you simply didn’t touch the ball. I knew: You don’t get a ball, no space – everything they do works,” explained Bittencourt, who is now in the 2nd division for Werder Bremen runs up.

No win against Guardiola

Bittencourt met four times in the Bundesliga with Hannover 96 and once with 1. FC Köln on Peps Bayern and had to admit defeat all five times. His teams scored only one goal in these games, but conceded 18 hits. He later met Guardiola again with TSG Hoffenheim in the Champions League – this time as coach of Manchester City. Again, however, he had to admit defeat twice (1: 2 each).

Guardiola was the coach of FC Bayern from 2013 to 2016 and won a total of seven titles with an average of 2.41 per game.
