Manuel Neuer
At the age of 35, he probably has to be more careful than before to stay warm during the game, so he should be quite happy that his defensive line is currently acting in such a way that Neuer has enough to do even with big wins. After 20 minutes he parried a shot from Robin Knoche from close range with a reflex and stayed wide awake in the second half. Did he have to stay?

Was allowed to return as a right-back after numerous absences due to illness and injury, for the first time since the first leg against Union. Might need a little more time to become an option for the starting eleven again soon – initially did more for Neuer’s warm-up program by playing some serious bad passes. Offensive part of a working pressing.
Tanguy Nianzou
Didn’t always look confident defensively and therefore did something that one of his predecessors as central defender, the Brazilian Lucio, always liked to do in Munich on days like this: went on the offensive and scored a goal. Celebrated his 2-0 win with his colleagues from the defensive line, which could definitely be seen as a team-building measure. Shouldn’t choose Lucio as a role model from Bayern’s past in the long run.
Dayot Upamecano
Julian Nagelsmann asked him to play more “simple balls” before the game, but took the liberty of interpretation and played a simple ball to the opponent. Tried to organize the defence, but his positional play hardly allowed him to concentrate on anyone but himself. Not as strong as the injured Niklas Süle as a central defender at the moment, which at least has a positive aspect for Bayern: probably no offer from Borussia Dortmund in the near future.
Lucas Hernández
Apparently listened when Nagelsmann was dealing with easy balls and moved up well before the 1-0 to then play a very easy ball on Coman. Then left the hook and the great shot on goal to the offensive compatriot, but is officially in the statistics as the assist provider. Should soon be used in the team’s internal advertising campaign as a testimonial with the slogan “Great, what simple balls can lead to!” appear.
Jamal Musiala
Has recently had to do defensive tasks quite often, which as a six/eight falls within his area of responsibility, but has not necessarily been his core competence so far. Enjoyed the offensive again against Union and put Lewandowski on the 4-0 in an exemplary manner. Then proved that he still has the potential to play a classic six and that he is developing further: Was substituted in the 62nd minute because he had already seen a yellow card.
Joshua Kimmich
Already knows everything about the six-position and plays accordingly. The thought that he played as a right-back for years seems almost absurd, at least in retrospect. Could pass a whiff of the awesome sovereignty that surrounds him to the members of the back four behind him, the whole club would be helped.
Leroy Sane
Nominally played on the right wing again in the absence of Serge Gnabry, but didn’t take it too literally. Was all over the field, even trying to head off chances in his own penalty area in the first half. Seems now ready to take on significantly more responsibility, even if it’s not about goal involvement. Didn’t get a good pass from Coman offensively, otherwise he would have contributed to his good performance in this discipline as well.
Thomas Müller
Usually the one that can be found everywhere. Apparently gets along quite well with the competition for the post of frequent runner by Leroy Sane, also has clear advantages in the discipline “Bavarian mouthwork” in terms of verbal assertiveness. Played the opening pass before the 4:0 and as usual was always there where it was needed.
Kingsley Coman
In the first leg in Berlin scored one of the most remarkable Bayern goals of the first half of the season, with full force from the run into the corner. His goal to make it 1-0, a flutter ball into the corner after a hook (photo), seemed almost ordinary, which could also be due to the fact that such a movement has been popular in Munich since the era of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben normality lasts.
Robert Lewandowski
Seems to be having a hard time accepting offers, even if they come from the opposition: Failed to open the scoring after Rani Khedira’s ricochet in the 11th minute. At least accepted when it came to scoring from eleven meters to make it 3-0 in the 45th minute and using Musiala’s perfect assist from close range. Should be getting more offers soon – and at Bayern Munich a lot will still depend on whether he accepts them.

Came on for Jamal Musiala and had half an hour to play his way out of his low. Was even switched to his favorite offensive position after further substitutions, tried to play in form there with the other substitutes, but he didn’t necessarily succeed.
Serge Gnabry
Came on when the score was 4-0. Accordingly, he was able to take it easy, like his hairdresser, who apparently hadn’t had to use scissors for weeks.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
Had a cold during the week but negative which was a positive. Was therefore also allowed to play, but once in a promising position did not get a pass from Gnabry, which is why he did not score a goal and briefly let his shoulders hang. Will continue to try to stay negative – and positive.
Marc Roca
Came in as a six for Joshua Kimmich which is a thankless role. Did his job so well that he was only noticed because he is a head taller than Kimmich.
Corentin Tolisso
Made his comeback after a lengthy injury break and showed in attacking play that he has maintained his form. A little bit of good news ahead of the coming weeks.
