FC Bayern: Dietmar Hamann: He is the “disappointment of the season” | Sports

Quit the Bavaria the season actually without a title?

After 1: 3 embarrassment against Leipzig and the victory of BVB in Augsburg (3-0), Munich can no longer become German champions on their own on the last day of the game in Cologne and are urgently dependent on a mega blunder by Dortmund against Mainz (Saturday, 3.30 p.m.).

The fact is: For the record champions, it’s a season to forget! And ex-Bayern star and football expert Dietmar “Didi” Hamann (49) does not only settle accounts with coach Thomas Tuchel (49) in the football talk “Sky 90”!

Hamann: This star is “disappointment of the season”

In the Sky program, the vice world champion from 2002 speaks plainly about the current situation at his ex-club, and hands it out in a sweeping swoop.

One thing is certain for “Didi”: Leon Goretzka (28) is the “disappointment of the season” for him. “I would have thought he was a pillar, a pillar. But he’s completely gone. And you can say the same about many others,” says Hamann.

He emphasizes that the squad is “excellent”, but that the record champions lack “workers”: “You need players who are willing to sacrifice themselves for the team. You need three or four players on the team that make others better. And they don’t have that at the moment.”

“Bayern got worse after Nagelsmann”

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel (49) also criticized the sky expert Hamann in his all-round attack.

He says: “When I have a new coach who loses more in 11 games than his predecessor lost in 37 games, I can’t say that the team is solely to blame. Of course, the coach has his part in it. We don’t know how much.”

Tuchel was brought in to “make things better”, but the “coach effect fizzled out” as soon as the contract was signed, Hamann continued.

The team “didn’t get any better with Julian Nagelsmann’s successor. If anything, she’s even playing worse than before.”

Hamann also continues to rumble about the 1-1 goal: “Your six (Joshua Kimmich, editor’s note) shoots the corner and Leon Goretzka is in the sixteen. I can’t remember the last time he scored a headed goal. One of the two has to stand in the penalty area and head the ball away or play the foul. And behind that is Joao Cancelo, who didn’t invent defending either. That was schoolboyish, that was amateurish. I have to blame the coach for that. That was a mistake. That caused a goal and probably cost Bayern the game.”

And probably the championship too…
