Barcelona are apparently already working on the squad for the coming season. With Lisandro Martinez from Ajax, a defender is said to be on the list.
FC Barcelona is apparently interested in signing Ajax central defender Lisandro Martinez (23). That reports Tuttosport.
Accordingly, the Catalans are preparing an offer for the coming summer. Martinez is said to be very popular with Barca coach Xavi and, despite his latest contract extension, is likely to leave the club until 2025 if a suitable offer is made.
Barca were courting Martinez last summer
Barca are said to have tried to get Martinez already last summer. At that time, the Blaugrana planned a loan deal due to financial bottlenecks, which Ajax refused.
The Argentine moved to Amsterdam in the summer of 2019 for a seven million euro transfer fee from Defensa y Justicia. In the current season he played 24 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored one goal and four assists.
