Fashion Designer Vivienne Westwood Passes Away – Fashion & Cosmetics

“This woman was once a punk” read one of the covers of the English magazine Tatler in the distant 1989, which featured Margaret Thatcher. At least the lady in the old-fashioned polka dot suit and teased hair looked like the Prime Minister at the time. In truth, however, it was Vivienne Westwood. At the time, the fashion designer with a wild past was still considered a terror of the British establishment. Together with her second husband Malcolm McLaren, the “inventor” of the Sex Pistols, she supplied the teddy boys, the punks and later the fetishists of all stripes with the most daring outfits in their shop in London’s King’s Road.
