In the 1980s, bright colors were popular in make-up. Several looks are returning this fall, including natural styles.

The 80s are back! The decade of big hairstyles, neon colors and power suits makes for great makeup looks this fall. Between the shimmering accents and bright tones, neutral tones are also not neglected. There is something for everyone in the trend comeback.

Sparkling eyes and lips

In the 1980s, makeup rivaled glittery disco balls. Then as now, eye shadows in metallic tones perfectly accentuated the eyes. Warm colors give way to cool, silver shimmer. Black eyeshadow can be used as a base for a dramatic effect. The combination with pink or violet nuances is also well known for the Blondie singer Debbie Harry (79) was known.

However, shine is not only allowed on the eyes: the 80s trend is also adorning the lips these days. A lipstick with a metallic shimmer promises a more subtle look. It becomes more noticeable with glitter powder dabbed over lipstick.

Barbie pink lips

Is restraint overrated? This motto is followed by another lip look that is celebrating its comeback. Bright pink tones put the full focus on the lips. Among the famous representatives of the trend from the eighties are actress Joan Collins (91) and music icons Grace Jones (76) and Madonna (66).

The exact color shade of the lipstick depends on your skin: If you have a summer complexion, you should choose warm tones, while a cool pink goes better with a skin tone with a pink tint. Special liquid lipsticks ensure a particularly long hold. For a look true to the 80s, choose a shiny version. Alternatively, a transparent lip gloss can be applied over the long-lasting lipstick.

Bright blush

The pink theme continues with the blush. Bright pink tones imitate the blush of the cheeks in an exaggerated way this fall. The result is particularly intense with a blush in cream form. This is distributed and hidden on the cheeks with a brush. If that’s not striking enough, it can be brought up to the end of the eyebrows.

Effortless and elegant

A more natural result is required for the effortless glam look, which creates a stark contrast to the otherwise colorful trends from the eighties. This makeup is all about soft colors. The lips shine in light nude or delicate peach tones, the blush is just as reserved. A natural result is achieved with a slight shimmer on the eyes and light mascara.

Untamed eyebrows

The eyebrow trends of the past few years have been varied: The heavily made-up Instagram brows were followed by bleached eyebrows, wavy brows and feather brows. This fall means a return to the natural. As was the case around 40 years ago, it is now important to change your brows as little as possible. This means: no plucking, shortening or filling. Combing up alone is permitted. In this way, a particularly full look can be achieved.
