Exhibition of murals from Pompeii extended in Bologna – Culture

This has been evident for several months Museo Civico Archeologico in Bologna a unique exhibition: “I pittori di Pompei”. On display are 120 wall paintings from Pompeii. The show was originally supposed to close on March 19th. But because of the great success with the audience and criticism, it has now been extended until May 1st. The paintings show everyday life, landscapes, still lifes and scenes from mythology. The works come from the villas of the rich in Pompeii. There, from the mid-18th century, to protect them from decay, they were detached from the walls and taken to the archaeological collections of Naples. Due to a lack of space, only a few specimens can be seen there.
