Clearance “Köpi-Platz”:Attacks on police officers

In protest against the evacuation of the left car camp “Köpi-Platz” in Berlin-Mitte, several thousand people took to the streets on Friday evening. The mood is very aggressive, said a police spokeswoman. There have been attacks on police officers and some colleagues have been injured. Vehicles were also damaged accordingly. The police had advanced with heavy equipment at noon and finally led the residents who had barricaded themselves off the premises. The camp on Köpenicker Straße is considered to be one of the last symbolic projects of the left-wing autonomous scene in Berlin. The property owner had fought for the evacuation in court. The residents had declared that they would not give up “without a fight” on “Day X”.
