Everything you need to know for the opening of the leisure park on May 21

The fans of the German leisure park Europa Park have been waiting for a reopening date for six months. It is done and it will happen very, very quickly. Exactly next May 21, well before the date of the French parks. An early date because the amusement park will experiment with a pilot health program. But before riding the roller coaster and enjoying the 100 attractions, 2021 novelties and the many shows for which it is famous, you will have to show your paw print. In a press release, the park unveiled the access conditions and safety rules for visitors.

In addition to surgical masks, the following documents are required:

  • an entry ticket valid on the day of the visit,
  • a valid photo ID.

In addition, it is necessary to present:

  • or, from the age of 6, an approved negative test result (PCR or antigen test carried out by an approved screening center) dating less than 24 hours at the time of arrival
  • either a supporting document or an official certificate of complete vaccination (personal, dated and in paper format) which must be more than 14 days old
  • or a positive PCR test result older than 28 days and less than six months. If the positive test result is more than six months old, an official vaccination certificate must also be presented, which must be at least 14 days old.

On-site tests, but for exceptional cases

For customers of Europa Park hotels, special rules apply. Information is available at the park’s website. If visitors are not able to present proof of access, however specifies the park, some test stations are available on site and reserved for exceptional cases. However, due to a limited number, these test stations can involve long waiting times.

In the event of a positive test result, the entire group of the visitor concerned will be asked to leave the premises immediately and report to the competent health authorities. Entrance tickets for Europa Park can then be converted into a new dated ticket valid for the summer season 2021.

Limitation of the number of visitors, supporting documents, updating of the traceability system in coordination with the public health service of Ortenau, wearing a surgical mask will be compulsory in all interior spaces, in attractions and in queues and as soon as a minimum physical distance of 1.50 m cannot be respected. Beyond the traditional safety distances, new digital technologies will be implemented to manage queues and maintain physical distances.

As for Rulantica, the water park, we will have to wait a little longer, no reopening date has been brought forward… For now.
