Everything you need to know about blockages in Île-de-France

They camp in their positions… and on the highways. The blockades started this Monday are still holding around Paris. Determined to “starve” the capital, farmers are still blocking the main access routes to Paris in Île-de-France, confirmed this Tuesday morning Sanef (Autoroutes de France) has 20 minutes.

On eight highways and one national, farmers spent the night in their tractors to man the roadblocks. “We are still motivated and we will hold on,” says Christophe Robin in charge of blocking the A10. The manager claims this Tuesday morning, 70 farmers and around a hundred tractors. With regular relays between farmers to maintain pressure.

The main target of the day is the Rungis international market, towards which a convoy of 200 tractors is heading. The procession was stopped for a while on the highway by the mobile gendarmes in Haute-Vienne before “breaking through” and going around it to resume its route. Gendarmerie armored vehicles were deployed around the market at the request of the government. In total, more than a thousand farmers and just over 500 machines are deployed in the region.
