“Every euro we invest in space returns four euros” – Economy

ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher is on a European tour to collect money in the 22 member countries. Next week will be the triennial ESA Council of Ministers Conference advised on a budget of 18.5 billion euros, almost 30 percent more than in 2019. This also includes money for the new rocket Ariane 6. Since their premiere flight is delayed and the Esa the Russian Soyuz can no longer use it because of the sanctions, the space agency even has to order rockets from Elon Musk’s company Space-X for satellite launches. Aschbacher’s schedule is tight, he reports for the video interview from the ARD studio in Berlin.
