According to the ADAC, fuel prices in Germany fell significantly in November – compared to October, by an average of 13.8 cents for a liter of diesel and 7.8 cents for a liter of Super E10.

Fuel prices in Germany fell sharply in November. According to the automobile club ADAC, a liter of diesel cost an average of 1.967 euros nationwide last month – compared to October, that was a decrease of 13.8 cents.

A liter of Super E10 cost 1.831 euros in November, down 7.8 cents on the previous month. The ADAC called the development “overdue”. Most recently, ADAC posted an overview of the drop in price compared to the previous week on Twitter:

Reason according to ADAC low crude oil prices

The main reason for this is the lower crude oil prices. A barrel of Brent oil cost around $95 at the beginning of November and was $10 less at the end of the month. The stronger euro and increased competition on the fuel market also helped.

But there is “potential for further price reductions,” especially for diesel, emphasized the ADAC. The association recommends finding out about the current fuel prices before filling up and then going to the cheapest provider.
