Who will be in the race for the best song at the 2022 ESC final? A jury selects the candidates from 944 applications, and in March the public has the floor.
Who will represent Germany at the next Eurovision Song Contest (ESC)? On February 10, the secret will be revealed as to which musicians will be in the running for German participation in the 2022 ESC final.
A total of 944 applications from music acts and their songs were received, said the Norddeutsche Rundfunk (NDR) on Tuesday in Hamburg. The jury chose individual artists, duos and bands from them.
At the big ARD ESC day on March 4th, the audience can then decide who will be on stage for Germany at the ESC in Turin. The program “Germany 12 Points – the German ESC preliminary decision” will be broadcast live from Berlin on all third programs of the ARD from 8.15 p.m. and will be moderated by Barbara Schöneberger. In addition, the ARD pop waves play the songs of the candidates on the day and call for voting.
The act with the most voting points will finally appear in the ESC finals on May 14th. The jury’s favorites will be presented on the website www.eurovision.de from February 10th, online voting will start on February 28th.
