The national team will also do its final training session in the European Championship base camp before the Switzerland match. Good news for Nagelsmann: There are still no personnel concerns.

German national coach Julian Nagelsmann can also play in the decisive final match for group victory against Switzerland had a full complement of players. During the final training session, which took place as usual at the European Championship base camp in Herzogenaurach before the bus trip to the venue, all 26 players were on the pitch.

This means that there are no absentees to complain about before the end of the preliminary round. Nagelsmann could therefore field the same starting eleven for a third time on Sunday (9 p.m./ARD and MagentaTV) after the victories against Scotland (5:1) and Hungary (2:0).

Despite the fact that they have already secured their place in the round of 16, there is no reason to make any personnel changes, especially since the national coach is keen to be first in the knockout phase. A draw against second-placed Switzerland (4) is enough for the DFB team (6 points) to win the group.

“We are happy that we are in the round of 16. Nevertheless, it will be about finishing first in the group,” said Toni Kroos. The opponent on June 29 in Dortmund would be the second-placed team in Group C, which includes England (4 points), Denmark (2), Slovenia (2) and Serbia (1).
