At the ESC 2023, the rockers from “Lord of the Lost” suffered a severe defeat – but the Hamburgers don’t want to miss their experience at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Once again, the ESC appearance for the German contribution was a disaster: “Lord of the Lost” ended up with a measly 18 points and was thus beaten last at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. The Hamburg dark rock band took their poor performance calm and reacted during the night via Instagram to their defeat. There, the group around singer Chris Harms wrote: “Thank you everyone for this great experience! We loved every second of it!”

Now the group is returning to its old life and looking forward to a “fantastic summer of festivals, many sold-out shows and a second tour with Iron Maiden”. “Lord of the Lost” will be supporting some of the British metal legends’ concerts on the upcoming tour. In the further course of the post, the Hamburgers thanked all the other artists they met on the way to the ESC: “You all deserve all the success and love, may each of your dreams come true!”

ESC 2023: “Lord of the Lost” don’t want to do without experience

You leave Liverpool with the knowledge that you could not have put more effort, time and love into the ESC participation. And “Lord of the Lost” are not alone with their defeat. Especially in recent years, German participants mostly ended up far behind.

In 2022 Malik Harris also came last with “Rockstars”, Jendrik took second to last place in 2021, 2020 the ESC was canceled due to Corona and in 2019 “S!Sters” had to be content with the second to last place. We won’t know until next year whether the curse of the bad ESC rankings can be broken. Who will Germany send into the ring for this?
